Welcome to the Winnipeg Coed Volleyball League! 

Established in 1990, the WCVL is an independent, not for profit, volunteer based organization.  As of 2016, the WCVL has become the largest volleyball league in Canada.   The League is comprised of 17 Tiers, each consisting of 8 adult teams.  That gives a total of 136 teams!!! We welcome all skill levels, from recreational to highly competitive. Matches are played Sundays between 9:00AM and 10:00PM from September until April.

Nets at Bernie WolfeSeptember 29, 2023

Bernie Wolfe has moved the community use volleyball nets and antennas to the room to the left of you once you enter the gym (photo below).  Poles and ref stands are still shared and will continue to be stored in the equipment room. If you have any questions please contact your tier convenor. Thank you for your cooperation.

Team Registration 2023-2024August 15, 2023

WCVL FALL ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING:

Aug 24,2023 7:30 pm at Bronx park CC 720 Henderson Hwy

 

New and returning teams please bring cheque for $400 ($100 performance bond plus $300 Deposit) and a filled out preliminary roster form that can be found in the Downloads section of the website. Attendance by a team rep is mandatory. Failure to attend may result in your team losing placement or unable to register for the season due to lack of spots. new team registration is also not a guarantee.

 

Total league fees due this year is $1460. Breakdown is as follows:

  • $100 performance bond $300 deposit due by cheque Aug 24 (payable to Winnipeg Coed Volleyball League). Indicate team name on cheque. Do not postdate to a future date or it will not be accepted.
  • Remainder of fees to be paid online via Stripe by Sept 17 www.wcvl.ca

Teams may pay in full ($1460) via cheque as well. Teams who do not get taken in will have their cheque returned.

General Information 2023-2024August 13, 2023
  • WCVL is an independent league
  • The League is structured as a Tier League (8 teams per tier)
  • Match play is on Sundays between 8:30AM and 10:00PM
  • WCVL is a not for profit organization.
  • The season will run from September to April, with Tier Championships usually held during the last two Sundays of the season
  • There are three round robins of play. (7 matches per round robin)
  • Matches are played - best of 5. (Games 1-4 - no cap. Game 5 **15pts - no cap)
  • Tier movement occurs at the conclusion of each round robin and will be reassessed for the following season at the discretion of the WCVL Board.
  • The top two teams moves up to the next tier. The bottom two teams drop to the next lower tier. Tier placement is also reviewed by the executive.
  • All matches are officiated by MVOA officials.
  • For the 2023/24 season the total cost per team is $1460. This includes the required $100 performance bond for 21 matches and a $300 non-refundable deposit.
  • Each team has a guaranteed minimum one Playoff match.
